The network's Top Fresh Series of 2025 Gets a Major Renewal for Seasons 2 and 3.

Last October, Adult Swim debuted a new season of its unconventional hit, Smiling Friends. However, shortly thereafter, the channel unveiled a fresh animated series with a distinctly unique feel. Haha, You Clowns emerged as sweet and soothing, reminiscent of a animated take of a laid-back talk show. In an era often characterized by cynicism, this show's wholesomeness found an audience and helped it become a surprise hit.

A Two-Season Greenlight

On December 18th, the network revealed exciting news: Haha, You Clowns has been greenlit for two additional seasons. This offers creator Joe Cappa a massive runway to expand upon the story of the Campbell family. The series follows three respectful teenage brothers whose defining trait is their deep love for their widowed father, with Cappa voicing for all four key characters.

"I am incredibly thankful to the fans of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and helped it grow," stated Cappa. "I am overjoyed that I get to spend more time in the Campbell household for seasons to come."

Executive Acclaim

In the same announcement commendation from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who described the series as "radically heartfelt and uniquely eerie." He thanked the fans who found the show and supported its peculiarly charming appeal.

"All of you showed up for this new show, rooted for it on social media, and grew it week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. "As the show says: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"

A Wholesome Alternative

Upon its debut, Haha, You Clowns was hailed as "a wholesome alternative" to more cynical adult animated fare. Viewers found something surprisingly comfy about following this lovable family navigate their everyday routines.

At the time, creator Joe Cappa expressed his goal to evolve comedy past its long-running cynical streak. He linked this trend to a broader media landscape.

“There's this level of irony that we keep returning to,” said Cappa. “It feels as if we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for too long, and we must laugh at something different now. Comedy has to evolve.”

What Comes Next

With this renewal, with Haha, You Clowns locked in for the future, Cappa has the opportunity to catalyze that comedic shift. At a minimum, the renewal ensures audiences additional episodes to bask in the warm glow of the beloved Campbell clan.

The final episode of Season 1 of Haha, You Clowns airs on December 21st. The complete first season is currently streaming on HBO Max.
