The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about questionable actions towards women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
