Approximately 55,000 families have so far been affected by the weather, with their items and dwellings destroyed.

Heavy storms over the last seven days have intensified the precarious circumstances of the hundreds of thousands of uprooted civilians in the territory, as reported by aid organizations.

"Awful" Night Creates Grave Dangers

A representative described the previous night's conditions as "awful", with precipitation so intense that around 15cm (6in) of water was seen on the streets.

"These conditions was truly horrendous for the residents. The downpours were so intense... And the gales were so forceful," stated the official.

Officials express extreme concern that minors residing in temporary structures in wet garments will fall victim to hypothermia and additional illnesses.

Casualties and Significant Destruction

The health ministry have reported that one baby has succumbed from the cold and a minimum of 11 other people have been killed in roof cave-ins triggered by the harsh conditions.

Other reports indicate a greater fatality count. Spokespeople reported that multiple residential buildings had fully given way and scores had collapsed partially.

  • Roughly 55,000 families affected by rains.
  • More than 40 official refuges submerged.
  • Many people compelled to relocate again.

Assistance Distribution Considered Inadequate

Groups have stepped up distribution of shelter, bedding and clothing since the ceasefire started, but they have said there is continues to be not enough aid getting in.

"Agencies are working relentlessly to deliver that relief and to allocate it, but the size of the requirements is so vast that we still have thousands of families and minors who are genuinely suffering nightly," stated one representative.

Long-Term Challenges and Truce Plans

The subsequent part of the ceasefire involves plans for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the withdrawal of troops, and other conditions.

Aid bodies have stressed the necessity for "greater and continuous relief to meet pressing and ongoing needs."

The hostilities was sparked by an assault in October 2023. Following actions have resulted in a substantial number of casualties in the area, according to health ministry reports.
