"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
