In a separate tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Recently, a Los Angeles judge agreed to bar the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the local authorities.

A legal directive placed a restriction on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
